Everywhere, though I call New York home
Going to the cinema, Swimming in the sea and a perfect cup of matcha. The smell of summer rain. My grandmother’s fig tree. Sentimental jewelry, the delicacy of handmade antiques, the passion of music.
Wasting time, comparison
From love, with love
Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly
Las 6 Mujeres Rarámuri, Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide, Catalan director Carla Simon, my friends
The Baby Tee and Pant for travel, The Balconette and Slip Skirt for everyday, The Low Rise and Baby Henley to sleep.
Japan! An absolute dream of mine and I’m so grateful to be able to see the world with my family. We traveled from Tokyo to the Minamisaku Mountains, Osaka, Kyoto and Gotemba before returning to Tokyo.
Been to East Asia
Wandering aimlessly in a new place. Instead of driving, or taking public transit, try walking. Get lost! I promise this is always how I find my favourite places.
Drive around the southern prefectures. Though I love the energy of Tokyo, I prefer the smaller cities and countryside. To me, the real beauty of Japan is found in the whisper of bamboo leaves in the wind, or the quiet chatter of locals at a cafe.
There’s a gentility to the way of life I found quite admirable. Nothing feels rushed. Mainly observed through our host Niho’s Tenderness. To experience her culture alongside my mother and sisters through the universal language for girls (playing dress up) is something I’ll never forget.
Not so much of a shift as a reminder of the importance of dedicating time for family. I live away from my sisters and really cherish the time we get to spend together.
Udon with hand foraged wild vegetables and amazake at a small restaurant near the train station in Yoshino OR truly any strawberries from any market.
More matcha than I can possibly consume, hand crafted antiques, sentimental gifts for family and friends.
The deer of Nara Park, The cherry tree in Maruyama Park, Kyoto, the tea and cakes Niho served on my birthday.
I’m dying to visit Peru.
