Our undies are our most intimate items; we wear them daily and wash them often. But because of this, our undies are also our most disposed-of garments and, very likely, the only ones you won’t be reselling on Depop. The problem? Only 2% of underwear is sustainably sourced—meaning your standard multipack spends more time in a landfill than in your top drawer.
We founded Cou Cou to change that.
The most sustainable option? Commando. The second best? Cou Cou. We make intimate essentials for your everyday that are made to love & made to last—crafted from the highest quality, super-soft 100% Organic Cotton: a sustainably sourced fabric that’s compostable, too. And with every order, we donate 1% to our nonprofit partners working for people and planet. By designing for longevity, embracing transparency, and reimagining your most-worn garments with softness, sustainability, and intention, we hope to make your most disposed-of garments a little less disposable.

All your Cou Cou’s are made from the highest quality, super-soft 100% Organic Cotton—a natural fibre that’s not only comfy (and cute) but compostable and completely free from synthetics, toxins & harmful chemicals. Sustainably sourced & grown in the beautiful region of Izmir, Türkiye, our cotton is farmed regeneratively—no synthetic pesticides, no GMOs, no harsh chemicals. Just clean, traceable cotton that supports healthier soil, safer farming conditions, and a reduced environmental footprint. With nearly two-thirds of a garment’s impact coming from its materials, we believe conscious production starts with what you’re made of. We work with a small group of factories in Türkiye, Portugal & Morocco who share our values around care, craft, and responsibility. We see our factories as true partners, an extension of the Cou Cou team—we visit them regularly, and take our time to ensure every partnership truly aligns with our ethos. All factories are Sedex members and undergo SMETA audits—the leading global standard for assessing safe working conditions, fair treatment, and environmental responsibility—holding certifications including GOTS, OEKO-TEX® 100, and GRS, reflecting their commitment to social & environmental responsibility. Because how something is made—and who makes it—
